Rajesh Latchoo has named his first Saint Lucia squad: 25 players for this week's Concacaf Nations League double-header against Barbados and Bermuda, both at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. It's Latchoo's first squad since taking charge of the Piton Boyz.

Of the 25, La Clery supply five players — the single biggest contingent from any one club — with Vieux Fort South adding two more. The rest of the domestic group is spread across Anse La Raye, Dennery, Golden Lions, Gros Islet, Grenades FC, Mabouya Valley, Mount Pleasant FA and Soufriere. The overseas contingent includes Shrewsbury Town's Arkell Jude-Boyd, Cavalry FC's Caniggia Elva, Colorado Rapids' Donavan Phillip, and two Montego Bay United players, Vino Barclett and Melvin Doxilly.

Who Is Rajesh Latchoo

Latchoo, from Princes Town in Trinidad and Tobago, moved into senior management at 27 with Joe Public FC, winning the 2011 Digicel Pro Bowl, and has since managed Morvant Caledonia United and worked as assistant coach with Trinidad and Tobago's senior women's team. His only previous head-coaching post at international level came with Dominica, where he spent five years from 2017 to 2022, taking charge for 19 Nations League and World Cup qualifying matches, with five wins, four draws and ten losses.

He replaces Francis Lastic, who had been preparing the Piton Boyz as interim head coach before being replaced days before the opener. Lastic himself had only stepped in after Stern John left the post, following close to four years and 25 games in charge. Latchoo is Saint Lucia's third head coach in a matter of weeks.

Latchoo has been direct about standards. "Every single day, we will hold them accountable," he said of the group after naming the squad, alongside the target he has already set for the six-game group phase: 18 points, a maximum return.

The Fixtures

Saint Lucia host the whole Group B window at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground this week — Barbados first, Bermuda three days later — with Guadeloupe and Bermuda also playing there the same day as the Barbados game.
